Cisco UBR10-DTCC – Restore DOCSIS-Compliant Clock Redundancy on Your uBR10012 CMTS
The Cisco UBR10-DTCC is the DOCSIS Timing, Communication and Control card for the Cisco uBR10012 Universal Broadband Router. It acts as a secondary processor that keeps the whole headend in sync: in the default DTI mode it functions as a DTI client, receiving the 10.24 MHz clock and 32-bit DOCSIS timestamp from an external DTI Server and distributing it to every cable interface line card in the chassis; it can also run in free-running mode, deriving that same clock and timestamp from a Stratum 3 external reference connected to its front-panel RJ-45 ports. Cable operators and MSOs run two DTCC cards as an active/backup pair — required in Cisco IOS 12.2(33)SCB and later — so a card failure never interrupts service or forces cable modems to re-register. This is a used, tested unit for engineers replacing a failed or aging DTCC card, restoring a redundant pair, or building out a uBR10012 lab or test environment.
Key Features & Benefits
- Full DOCSIS Timing Compliance – Distributes the 10.24 MHz clock and 32-bit DOCSIS timestamp to every cable interface line card — received via DTI protocol from an external DTI Server in DTI mode, or derived from a Stratum 3 external reference in free-running mode.
- Built-In Redundancy – Designed to run as an active/backup pair — if the primary card fails, the backup takes over instantly with no loss of cable modem registration.
- Dual External Clock Inputs – Two RJ-45 DTI ports (Primary & Secondary) accept a Stratum 3 reference traceable to Stratum 1 for network-wide sync.
- Centralized Power & Status Control – Independently powers cable line cards on or off and continuously monitors chassis power supply usage.
- At-a-Glance System Status – Drives the front-panel LCD showing live configuration and status information for fast headend troubleshooting.
